Old Trafford

Manchester United F.C 8 - 2 Arsenal F.C

A Manchester United team with a younger average age beat Arsenal 8-2.

10 years ago i was jumping around like mad fellow who couldn't believe the scoreline as Man Utd cruise to victory and at half time it was 5-1 :) yes you read correctly, it was 5-1 at half time 10 years ago ;)

February 25, 2001:

tho it was only 3-1 at half time 10 years after, i had the feeling we could all the way. Following Dwight Yorke's hat trick, i was relishing a hat trick from Wayne Rooney and how sweet it would have been if the 3rd goal was the one when he lobbed gooners' keeper :)

whatever we kept pushing bar a moment of complacency as usual to concede another, we cruise to victory to humiliate those arrogant bastards gosh i hate them.

the scoreboard never lies & it could have been 9 ;)

Standing Ovation as Rooney salutes the crowd

The ball is yours Wayne ;)

A. Young Celebrating his 1st Man Utd League Goal

Celebrations all over the pitch ;)

There is no stopping this lad from scoring, D. Welbeck breaks the deadlock :)

Bend it like ......... Rooney !!!

Justice Done !!! De Gea Saves pen to protect Man Utd Lead :)

United top scorer this season? may be :)

The scoreboard never lies .. 8-2 gosh it could have been 9

Remember '99 - Man Utd

Posted by 985M3rv|n on 18:59 in
26th May 1999 . . history was made as Man Utd F.C reached the promised land.

1-0 down after having surviv'd a cross bar and the inside of the post and with 3 minutes left to play . . the most dramatic final ever . .

Injury Time

David Beckham swings over a corner from the left with Peter Schmeichel storming forward to head the ball, Ryan Giggs half-hits a shot at goal and Teddy Sheringham gets he faintest of touches to steer the ball into the corner of the nest, looks at the assistant ref. and started celebrating wild.. United jgot out of jail.

40' remaining on the clock ..another Beckham corner from the left as Utd fans massed behind the goal roared..this time a header towards the far post by Sheringham and there is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. .

the thrill is still here whenever i watch this pure magical moment over and over gain.. sneak in

Olé Olé Olé Gunnar Solksjaer & Man Utd came back from the dead..

2 years later, in 2001, Bayern avenge their defeat by knocking Man Utd out of Europe at the quarter final stage.. 9 years later, tuesday 30 March 2010, quarter final stage again as FC Bayern Munich welcomes Man Utd for the 1st leg of the cl quarter final with the return leg due at Old Trafford where i'm sure 'Olé Olé Olé' will fizzle around the theatre of dreams for the return leg.

Welcome Home Becks - Fergie Sign Him

Welcome Home Becks

Manchester United 4 vs AC Milan 0
(7-2 aggregate)

Old Trafford, Theatre of erupted in a standing ovation for a Man Utd Legend.

"There is ony one David Beckham, Fergie Sign Him Up" as the chants around Old Trafford became louder and louder.

Man Utd cruised pass AC Milan winning by four goals to nil to quality for the quarter finals of the champions league.

Bend it like Beckham it said and that guy was my idol. i remember how people nicknam'd me 'ti-beckham' when i adopted his style of play. he was my idol until he left for madrid but that move was unavoidable.. nobody is greater than the club indeed and when he fell out with Sir Alex, there was to be only 1 outcome. it took me years to get over it and i couldn't bear to see him playing in another shirt especially that white shirt of madrid which i hate so much..but time heals and when he was on the touchline getting ready to roll on the United pitch, i was just wondering and dreaming..i was overwhelmed & started singing in front of my tv..

i will always fight for the Number 7 Shirt..and will never change my style of play. ill keep bending free-kicks & crosses the same way he swerves his left arm before touching the ball and bang..!!! no wonder i'll keep wearing adidas predator pro swerve boots while playing football.

but the most important thing of the night was that Man Utd demolished AC Milan thanks to goals from Rooney (2), Park & Fletcher

rooney finishes it off and game over. great pass by nani too.

full highlights:- (commentary in french sowie, kinda sux i know)

Liverpool v/s Man Utd Preview

The Lancashire Derby: Live from Anfield Road

Kick Off @ 14.00 BST [17.00 (MRU Time)].

Liverpool v/s Manchester United Preview

By 985M3rv|n

“Au revoir Cantona and Man United… come back when you’ve won 18” read the banner at Anfield Road in January 1994 as Liverpool taunted Manchester United fans who were chanting & celebrating after going three nil up in less than half and hour.

Liverpool fans were cursing and laughing at Man Utd as they have always done down the years putting forward and boasting their tremendous record of being the only team having won 18 titles to which Utd fans could hardly response.

And the response could not be sweeter: “18 times and that’s a fact” will be all over the place from Utd fans as the time to avenge all these years of taunts and mockery finally knocks at the door. Manchester United are back at Anfield Road with 18 titles in the bag.

The Kop v/s The Red Devils

Last season, Liverpool did the double over Man Utd as they won 2-1 @ Anfield Road and 1-4 @ Old Trafford. This ended a drought of Liverpool victories over Man Utd since I don’t know how many years.

As a Manchester United fan, I’m expecting a backlash as Liverpool has had just their worst ever run in 22 years as they lost four consecutive games in a row and a wounded team hosting its greatest rival of all times on home soil is a major threat not to under-estimate.

Manchester United are ready to pile on the pressure though and an away win will boost their own confidence and at the same time giving a harsh blow to Liverpool’s title hopes but the season is very long and this match is not a title-decider.

The most important thing for Liverpool is to avoid defeat as a 5th one in a row will send them crushing deep down the 1st half of the table. The most important thing for Manchester United is to remain focus in winning another Premiership Title. Secondly to sing ‘Oh Ah Cantona’ from kick off till the final whistle and to taunt those arrogant scousers about Manchester United having won 18 titles and that is a fact. Those banners will be all over the place from the Man Utd crowd as the rallying cry would be to wear your Eric Cantona’s Mask.

Predictions:

A draw looms on the horizon as Liverpool cannot afford another defeat and Man Utd will also be having 2nd thoughts about rivals Chelsea and Arsenal who are starting to mount a serious title challenge. Personally, i'd prefer a Manchester United win but sometimes one needs to be neutral and take into consideration other aspects. But Liverpool will all be going out for the win too as they will want to show their fiercest rivals that they haven't given up yet. It will be a tough match with an incredible atmosphere of you'll never walk alone and glory glory man utd. Tackles & bookings will be flying all over the pitch and a red card too may be.

Glory Glory Man Utd & The Reds Goes Marching On.

Oh Ah Cantona Oh Ah Cantona Yeah! Oh Ah Cantona Oh Ah Cantona Yeah

Getting Prepared:

The preparations of Eric Cantona’s Mask & the banner flag (18 times champions that's a fact) has already started. Download it below Man Utd fans & print it out & lets sing Oh Ah Cantona.

Next step is booze. What about a Carlsberg Beer?

Naah, I’d go for my favourite: Heineken as usual & potato chips: Williard’s Crinkle Cut & Pringles.

or may be with my scarf around my neck, shooters' pub =) booozeee cheeers & singing loudly =)

So bloggers, how are you preparing yourself for this big match on Sunday?

The Manchester Derby

Welcome to Manchester - Michael Owen

i will not linger on commenting the match as the main facts remain that Utd gifted City with 2 goals and a bad mistake from the defense line-up cost us another but yet thanks to such howlers, it was one of the greatest derbies.

2nd half was one-way traffic as Man Utd showed its mental strength to never give-up until the final whistle as every Man Utd fan should always 'Believe'.

Michael Owen has arrived

Final Score:

Old Trafford, Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester

Horse Racing

Horse Racing in Mauritius

The Champ de Mars Race Track is one of the oldest race course in the world. It has always been the main venue for horse racing in Mauritius and may it still be for a long long time.

It is classified as a historical place as it has been present since 1812.

its kinda a difficult and tricky track with only a final straight of 300m and during the final curve, one needs to know where to place his horse for the final run.

The most prestigious race is the Maiden Cup where big prize money and stakes are to be won and it almost requires two laps of the champ de mars race track.

Last Saturday i was overwhelmed to see my favourite horse for this year winning his first ever race in Mauritius.

Profit Report winning his first ever race in Mauritius (pic not mine btw)

but my favourite horse of all times remains and will always remain the valiant:

Lines of Power

won 2 consecutive maiden cups and has still the best time for the 1800m race and on which i had the chance and the pleasure to ride :)

Chelsea v/s Man Utd (Pictures)

Chelsea F.C. v/s Man Utd F.C

Kick Off of the the Premiership season 2009/2010 with the Charity match between the holders of the F.A Cup, Chelsea and the Premiership Champions, Manchested United.

Not too much was at stake really but players on the pitch showed the kind of commitment which can be described as the appetite and eagerness to beat a bitter rival and to win more trophies and in the end, there was no demonstration of a friendly encounter.

United lost 4-1 on penalties after a feisty 2-2 draw at Wembley but Man Utd was fuming about a series of events in the second half, particularly a challenge by Ballack on Patrice Evra.

Earlier there was no foul on Ballack as Evra challenged for the ball and won it fair but Ref. decided to stop play as Ballack went down. I understood that it was fair to do so as the player might need treatment after going down. Evra did not understand the decision and came to talk to Ballack and seemed to defend the way he won the ball.

We should not forget the Battle of the Bridge as Evra has a history of hostility with Chelsea. While Berbatov was off the pitch, Evra was elbowed down by Ballack and play continued. No red card, no foul and no stopping of play. What's wrong with this ref? To say he hadn't a clear view of the incident would be a lie and such an inconsistency proved a point. The least he could do was to stop the game as he did before when Ballack feigned an injury when he went down.

Chelsea countered and Lampard scored his team's 2nd goal and protests from Utd ranks fused from everywhere.

Evra stepped up and attack down his left flank and booed by the Chelsea fans (souvenirs of Moscow may be).

‘The referee’s made a rod for his own back,’ said Ferguson. ‘He’d stopped the game twice already, when Nani was down and when Ballack was down. We’ve seen that before with him (Ballack). When players are acting to get the game stopped, it’s an
area I’m concerned about.’

Evra avenged himself with a lunge at the ball and not Ballack but instead got booked for winning the ball? what the hell is this kind of refereeing? It was a fanstastic tackle which won Evra the ball but instead was showed the yellow card by a referee who must be shown red by the F.A.

Fortunately, there was not too much at stake and glad this has not been a final or a match during the decisive period of the league but nevertheless such kind of refereeing should not be tolerated.

But after Chelsea's 2nd goal, i must admit that they control the game well and fairly to say they deserved something out of this game. Rooney levelled the game in injury time and with the game all squared, the penalty shoot-out Ryan Giggs and Evra missed their spots kicks to hand Chelsea the Community Shield.

but this game meant for Charity has been again over-shadowed by the rivalry between the two teams and no wonder the title race will be between those two clubs as stated before by Sir Alex Ferguson and to rub into the wounds of Ballack, i would say he will always remain the eternal runner-up as he has always been described and where was Mr Chelsea during the penalty shoot-outs.

Chelsea can celebrate as this was Wembley and not Moscow :)

Welcome Back to the English Premiership
